This half term Sporting Influence are delivering many Physical Education sessions to Kirk Hammerton which all include developing students social skills! In the first half term year 4/5/6 are focusing on cricket in their PPA sessions. Also, year 2/3 have a six week CPD programme of Basketball.
Mr Brookbanks began both lessons by introducing the five social skills that Sporting Influence focus on. As both sports require a high level of hand-eye coordination this is what many of the activities aimed to develop. Mr Brookbanks was delighted with the determination of all children especially within Basketball as many of the children had not played before!
This half term the children in both Class 3 and Class 2 are focusing on Tag Rugby. As well as this, all lesson are focused on developing children’s social skills! Mr Brookbanks is delighted with the skills that are currently being shown by both classes!

Class 2- Tom and Jerry Invasion, Control of Rugby ball
