This year, KS2 will be working alongside Mr Ellis once a week in their PE sessions. Every Wednesday AM, year 3/4 will be timetabled for their PE slots, with year 5/6 having theirs in the afternoon. Mr Ellis is also in school on a Friday afternoon to work alongside the year 5/6 class he misses on a Wednesday.
In addition to this, Mr Ellis will be taking a Grove Road school team along to the many competitions that Sporting Influence host throughout the year.
Below is an overview of the year of PE that Mr Ellis will be working on. First up, it’s invasion games!
This year in PE, our focus is on how to ‘Max Our Day’s’ and live as many adventures as possible. To that end, the adventure pyramid shown below is our blueprint for PE in school and forms the ‘WHY’ behind what we do.
During Autumn Half Term 2, Mr Ellis and the wonderful Grove Road children will be working through a unit of OAA (outdoor adventurous activities). The children will be able to develop opportunities to work on key life social skills in tasks such as ‘Team Maze Challenge’ and Map Reading. Stay tuned to see how they get on…
