Sporting Influence Foundation is on a mission to raise funds to continue their impactful work within the local community, providing children facing challenging circumstances with access to activity camps during school holidays. These camps offer much more than a place to go—they create an escape from the day-to-day stresses that many kids experience, giving them the chance to connect with peers, stay active, and avoid feelings of loneliness.
Foundation Project Manager Neil Atkinson shared that Sporting Influence has big plans for 2025, with several fundraisers in the pipeline. “We’re hopeful the local community will step up to support—whether that’s through donations, volunteering time, or even just spreading the word,” he said.
David Moss, Director of The Foundation, expressed excitement about the prospect of growing partnerships within the area. "Beyond raising funds, these partnerships help provide insight into sports participation and how it benefits young people. We are looking at a really exciting partnership at the moment that could allow us to be part of some research which in turn could help us understand the drop off in sports participation, especially in young girls".
