Welcome to Sporting Influence Foundation

At the Sporting Influence Foundation, we believe every child deserves the chance to experience the joy, confidence, and wellbeing that sport can bring. Our aim is simple yet powerful: to create opportunities for children and young people facing barriers to sport or hardship, enabling them to participate in physical activity and benefit from its positive impact.

This mission is at the heart of everything we do and is strengthened by our core objectives:

  • Support Children with Disabilities – ensuring every child has access to inclusive, meaningful sporting opportunities.
  • Promote Girls’ Sport – championing equality and empowering more girls to participate and thrive.
  • Improve Wellbeing – using physical activity, education, and positive experiences to support healthier, happier lives.
  • Provide Free Places at Sporting Influence holiday camps and after-school clubs – breaking down financial barriers to participation.
  • Offer Incredible Experiences – from live sports events and wellness walks to super pupil trips and outdoor educational learning, inspiring young people through unforgettable moments.

We are building a community where all children, regardless of their circumstances, can grow, connect, and succeed through sport.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Every opportunity created makes a lasting difference.

Director

Growing up, I threw myself into every sport I could, and it quickly became clear that sport was my family outside of my family. From personal experience, I know how important it can be to have someone to talk to beyond your home circle, and sport consistently provided that support for me. It taught me social values, life skills that extend far beyond the classroom, and gave me friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

Now, I’m driven by the desire to offer children the same opportunities and positive experiences that shaped me. In my role within the Sporting Influence Foundation, I oversee the day-to-day operations and manage the various areas and initiatives we run, ensuring that every part of our work contributes to creating meaningful opportunities for young people.

From a young age, I loved being active, playing football and training in martial arts. Sport over the years has given me many fantastic opportunities to experience, learn and build important life skills that still help me achieve my goals now. I see my role in the Sporting Influence Foundation as a crucial chance to support young people gain those important social and life skills through sport/PE so they can build their confidence to seek their dream opportunities in various areas of life.

Project Delivery

I’ve had a passion for sport for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I got involved in every activity I could, quickly realising the impact being active has on both physical and mental wellbeing. With sport always at the forefront of my mind, I’ve worked to put myself in a position where I can share the skills, values, and confidence it gave me with others.

Being part of the Sporting Influence Foundation allows me to do exactly that. I’m excited to help create opportunities for children to engage, grow, and thrive through our inclusive programmes. My hope is to inspire young people to build healthy habits, develop a love for being active, and discover a positive pathway that keeps sport as a meaningful part of their everyday lives.

Current Programmes

Play2EmpowHER

Sporting Influence Foundation’s Play2EmpowHER scheme is rolling out from 2025/26 and is dedicated to developing a lifelong passion for sport and physical activity among girls and young women. With female participation rates in sports declining from as young as 8 years old, this initiative aims to inspire confidence, build determination, and create inclusive opportunities for girls to stay active. Through tailored sessions, positive role models, and a supportive environment, Play2EmpowHER empowers young women to embrace physical activity as a vital part of their well-being and future. The programme aims to allow continued participation for the girls by allowing girls to attend the Sporting Influence Foundation Girls Academy or provide other sporting pathways for girls to attend.

SportABILITY

SportABILITY is a Sporting Influence Foundation programme designed to engage disabled children in enjoyable, accessible sport and physical activity. The initiative focuses on building confidence, developing key skills, and creating a positive environment where every child can experience the benefits of being active. Through tailored sessions and supportive role models, SportABILITY helps children explore activities that suit their abilities and interests. The programme also signposts participants to inclusive clubs and alternative sports outside of school, ensuring they can continue their journey in physical activity and access long-term opportunities within the community.

Free places @ Sporting Influence Camps and Afterschool Clubs

The Sporting Influence Foundation is committed to making sport and physical activity accessible to all by offering free places at our Sporting Influence Camps and After School Clubs for children and families who need additional support. We believe every child should have the chance to enjoy active, positive experiences, regardless of their circumstances. By removing financial barriers, we ensure that more young people can take part, build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy the same high-quality coaching and care as their peers. Our camps and clubs provide a safe, welcoming environment where children can have fun, stay active, and thrive.

Sports and Active Experiences

Sports and Active Experiences is a Sporting Influence Foundation initiative designed to give children access to exciting sporting opportunities they may not encounter in their everyday lives. By offering unique activities and memorable experiences, we aim to help children create core memories that spark curiosity, build confidence, and foster a lasting love for sport and physical activity. Through these opportunities, we hope to broaden horizons, inspire new passions, and ensure every child can enjoy the joy and benefits that an active lifestyle brings.
