Thank You, Neil Atkinson
As some of you may know, Mr Atkinson is stepping down from his role at the Sporting Influence Foundation to take up a lectureship and complete his PhD, we would like to extend our appreciation for the passion, commitment, and leadership he has brought to the Foundation.
During his time with us, Mr. Atkinson has overseen and developed a wide range of impactful projects, including:
Play2EmpowHER – promoting confidence, teamwork and physical activity among young girls
The Feast Project – addressing food insecurity and supporting families during school holidays
A collaborative research project with York St John University and Evolve Psychology, exploring the the impact of sport and autism in young children
Establishing key partnerships with IDAS & New Beginnings, helping support young people and families
Successful collaborations with Verity Frearson and Your Harrogate amongst many others, strengthening local ties and visibility
And the delivery of first aid training to over 2,000 school children, over a 2 year period, as part of a vital PSHCE curriculum.
Mr. Atkinson leaves the Foundation in an incredibly strong position, with firm foundations, strong partnerships, and a clear path forward. While we will miss his leadership, we are excited to continue building on the incredible work he has started.
On behalf of everyone at the Sporting Influence Foundation, thank you, Neil. We wish you all the very best in your academic journey and look forward to seeing the impact you continue to make in the years ahead.
P.S. for those of you thinking you have got rid of him, he will still be teaching for Sporting Influence on a Tuesday and Wednesday!!!
Mr Moss and the Sporting Influence & Foundation team.
