Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm in term time. 7:45am - 4pm at Holiday Camps (Part time hours could be optional.)
Holidays: 35 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.
Wage: Dependant on experience and full or part time work
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of PE specialists.The position would suit a: Graduate from a Sports or Education degree. Sporting Influence is a PE Teaching specialist in its thirteenth year of trading working mainly in the Harrogate, Craven, York and Leeds area.
We specialise in improving the standards of PE provision at Primary School level and creating innovative programmes using sport to engage pupils in cross curricular work. We have a strong ethos of Improving Social Skills through sport in everything we do.
We have a number of different programmes that are delivered into schools and cover a wide variety of different sports. Recently launched is the Sporting Influence Foundation (CIC) which works with children in challenging circumstances through sport and we are passionate in developing and growing a partnership with the Foundation.A key part of the role is working at our activity camps across school holiday.
We offer a paid year-long graduate placement opportunity to help graduates gain hands-on experience within the grassroots sport sector. This role is based in Harrogate, but may require travel.
We are delighted to announce the year-long graduate programme is starting its first year this year. It is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an inspiring team.
Our graduate programme caters for a broad range of interests and is open to university or higher education students who have recently graduated. We can be flexible with the work and specific duties can be tailored to the interests or studies of the student/graduate.
These will include work in the areas of:
1. PE teaching
2. Marketing
3. Social Media
4. Foundation (non-profit) activities, intervention programmes, funding bids.
5. Team leading groups of children at school holiday camps.

Candidates will need to possess the following:
Degree level (or working towards) qualification is sport/education
studies
Enhanced DBS Check (Desirably on the update service)
Safeguarding certificate (Desirable)
Paediatric first aid certificate (Desirable)
Emergency First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
1. Demonstrate mastery of the subject matter
2. Demonstrate advanced coaching/teaching skills (demonstrate skills in line with teacher teaching standards - worked towards throughout the year)
3. Make a substantial contribution to sport and PE within primary schools.
4. Demonstrate professional skills:
a. Effective written communication skills
b. Effective oral communication skills

Term 1
Shadowing and working alongside experienced teachers and members of staff and team teaching within schools.
Build up confidence and knowledge when delivering PE in a variety of schools and learning environments.
Support the effective running of in school and afterschool
competitions.
Induction into Sporting Influence Holiday Activity Camps, primarily in an assistant role, but also leading parts of sessions.
Term 2
Continuation of and working alongside experienced teachers and
members of staff and team teaching within schools. Focused placed on developing knowledge and confidence in different sports and activities.
Start to lead small groups and activities during lessons with the support of Sporting Influence staff.
Working towards leading afterschool clubs across different schools.
Continue to support with the effective running of competitions during and after school, leading where appropriate.
Take on a Team Leader role at Holiday Activity Camps.
Develop administrative skills in conjunction with relevant Sporting
Influence staff.
Term 3
To be planning and leading sessions, supported by Sporting Influence teachers.
To lead afterschool clubs independently.
Administrative responsibilities which may include marketing/social
media, but also communicating with schools as part of Interschool
competitions.
Working with Sporting Influence staff to support with planning of
Interschool competitions, leading where appropriate.
Support with planning of school sports days.
