Dishforth C of E Primary is School of the week and Mr Sherwood has been busy delivering a wide range of PE to all the year groups.
The school have also been keenly involved in our Cluster Competitions, showing great determination, enthusiasm and teamwork in their Football and Ro-wicket. They have also progressed to the finals of the Netball Competition.
All classes are currently developing their Athletics skills in preparation for Sport Day. We have been working on sprinting, throwing and jumping and have progressed in all areas.
The highlight of the year has been the development of EYFS who have been concentrating on throwing and catching, improving their ball skills and focusing on teamwork. They have really worked hard and have enjoyed their PE.
Class 2 also impressed when they showed great creativity when they divised their own Haka in their dance lessons. They really enjoyed expressing themselves and produced some amazing results.
Class 1 and 3 produced some wonderful routines in their Gymnastics lessons. We concentrated on rolls. rotations and jumps, with everyone progressing really well. The children used Ipads to film and review all their movements and had fun looking back at their performances.
The after School Club has been great fun with a variation of sports taking place, Ga-Ga ball has been the favourite indoor sport and we have played lots of dodgeball and rounders outside on the field.
Well done to everyone at Dishforth on a brilliant year, keep up the good work, you're always a pleasure to teach!
