Fountains is one of our long standing schools where we have delivered PE provision for a number of years. It is always a pleasure to teach PE on a Thursday and work with the staff and children. This half term the children have been exploring a wide range of sports and activities. Class 1 have been developing their Gymnastics skills, whilst preparing for their Dance festival after half term. Class 2 have been working hard in their Hockey lessons, whilst Class 3 have been exploring the 'Haka' in their Dance lessons. This half term the afterschool club of 'Nerf Legends' has proved popular with children developing their teamwork, accuracy and knowledge of tactics, as well as having lots of fun!
The school also takes part in the Ripon Cluster of Sporting Influence's Interschool Competitions held at Outwood Secondary School, where they have competed in the Y5/6 Football earlier in the year and are looking forward to the KS1 Dance and Cross-country next half term. Next week the school is also taking part in a 'Wellbeing Walk' as part of Children's Mental Health Week where children will develop their appreciation of their surroundings!
