This week, we’re celebrating Grove Road as our School of the Week!
This year Year 2 have been using activities and games to practice and improve their key maths, spelling and phonics skills. The children love all the games, especially 'What's the Word Mr Wolf!" and 'Maths Fact Shoot Out'. We have had great fun each week.
Different classes have also taken part in PE with Mr Colley who has been leading some CPD for different classes. This has included gymnastics and games. Both children and staff have worked very hard.
This year has seen Grove Road participate in our Tuesday daytime competitions for the first time. They have done a brilliant job approaching this new challenge with great resilience and determination. I especially loved seeing the Y2 and Y34 class learn and perform a dance in front of other schools in the beautiful Ashville Assembly Hall.
The after school clubs have been very popular and we have had great fun. We have run, jumped, rolled, bounced, thrown and laughed through a wide range of games and activities. We look forward to continuing this next term.
