We’re excited to announce the launch of our Sporting Influence Graduate Programme for 2025-26 — an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sport and education, while working as part of a passionate and innovative team.

Whether you’re a recent graduate from a Sports or Education degree, or a sports coach with experience, this role offers the chance to make a real difference in schools and communities across Yorkshire.

About Sporting Influence

Sporting Influence is a specialist PE teaching company now in its 14th year. Operating across Harrogate, Craven, York and Leeds, we are committed to improving PE provision at primary level and using sport to drive positive change — especially through our core ethos: "Improving Social Skills Through Sport."

We deliver a wide range of school programmes and sports, and recently launched the Sporting Influence Foundation (CIC), working with children in challenging circumstances.

The Graduate Role

Job Title: Graduate Programme – Primary PE & Sports Camp Team Leader
Start Date: July 2025
Location: Based in Harrogate (travel may be required)
Contract: Full-time (with potential part-time flexibility)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and hours
Holiday: 35 days + bank holidays

As a graduate team member, you will:

• Deliver PE lessons and lead activities in primary schools
• Plan and run events including school fayres and birthday parties
• Support our foundation’s non-profit activities
• Contribute to marketing, admin, and social media efforts
• Lead school holiday sports camps
• Adapt across different sports and settings, including evenings and weekends

Who We're Looking For

We’re looking for motivated, energetic individuals who:

• Have excellent social and communication skills
• Can build strong relationships with children, schools, and families
• Show responsibility, initiative, and a passion for working with young people
• Are organised, enthusiastic, and reliable

Essential Requirements:

• Degree (or working towards) in Sports or Education-related subject
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable (but not essential):

• Enhanced DBS (on update service)
• Safeguarding certificate
• Emergency/Paediatric First Aid

Programme Highlights

• Be part of a collaborative, supportive team
• Weekly CPD sessions and NGB qualification funding
• Choose a personal development focus (e.g. social media or school planning)
• Opportunities to lead school clubs, holiday camps, and community events
• Real-world experience in teaching, coaching, event planning, and more

Programme Timeline

Term 1:

• Shadow experienced staff and begin team teaching
• Learn to deliver PE across various schools
• Support holiday camps in an assistant role

Term 2:

• Start leading small group activities
• Take bookings and plan events (e.g. school fairs, parties)
• Begin running after school clubs and holiday camps

Term 3:

• Lead sessions and events independently
• Take on admin and communications tasks (e.g. school liaisons, marketing)
• Plan and support school sports days and inter-school competitions
