Imagine, looking round to see Sterling on one shoulder and Agüero on the other. Kit had the chance of a lifetime, to do just this and enter the pitch with the Man City superstars. As well as going out onto the pitch, Kit also got the chance to watch on as City beat Villa 3-0. Kit is an ever present in our Sporting Influence PE lessons and gives his all in every lesson. From our experience at Sporting Influence, Kit deserves this experience from his effort in PE alone! We hope you had an amazing time Kit!

Using skills such as communication and leadership, the children have had to rewrite the rules, amend the game to fit the rules and then deliver their version of the game to other students! It has taken some brilliant communication between the children and they have all understood the trials and tribulations that can be faced when leading a group. Blindfolded communication games were the order of the day at Richard Taylors on Wednesday as Mr Atkinson had children understanding the importance of verbal communication. Taking away the sight of one of the children, the other was their eyes, communicating and directing their partner to a cone which they had to collect. Of course this can raise many issues including trust, is your partner leading you sensibly to the end goal, do you trust their judgement. After getting over the initial feeling, the children did a brilliant job of working together and understanding the importance of verbal communication and giving the correct information.

National Fitness Day 2019 was on Wednesday 25th September! We took it upon ourselves to educate and inspire the children we teach every week with some fitness themed warm ups. One warm up which we tried to incorporate into every lesson was the 30 Rep Challenge. Children must move around a marked area. Upon hearing the signal, children must find a partner and compete against them in a challenge which lasts for 30 repetitions. The first to complete 30 reps is the winner. Some the the challenges were: Star Jumps, Plank High 5's, Foot Kicks, Press Ups, Sit Ups & Burpees. Take a look at some of the images below to see how this looked!!!

Mr Atkinson has started a Sports Wellbeing Club at Richard Taylors Primary School. Children are invited to the club to learn more about sport and how this can benefit/effect the body. At Wednesday's first club the children were introduced to 4 muscles, learnt about these muscles and how to stretch them, and also worked out their heart rate and understood why it goes up and down. All of this learning is active and fun so the children who may not all enjoy sport or may not want to learn about the body, don't even know they are doing it.
